Both in Italy and abroad, lawyer Stefano Sbordoni and the law firm Sbordoni&Partners are considered among the most established and qualified in the field of gaming and betting.

Stefano Sbordoni, a court-appointed lawyer, is a lecturer in Gaming Tax Legislation at the Department of Political, Social and Communication Sciences at the University of Salerno. He lectures at the Higher School of Economics and Finance.

He taught courses for public concessionaires at the University of Malta.

He supports the Autonomous Administration of State Monopolies on matters of administrative law relating to the gaming and betting sector: he is an advisor to the main gaming operators, both Italian and foreign. In his many years of experience he has dealt, among other things, with the regulation of the Bingo game, the reorganisation through public tenders of the gaming sector, the privatisation of Instant Lotteries, and the marketing of games and lotteries in more than forty countries worldwide. An expert in reinsurance, he has been responsible for underwriting the aviation branch and the treaties and excess of loss sector of leading international reinsurance companies, as well as Head of the Italian portfolio and contractual litigation service in both Italy and England. He is a regular speaker at major conferences on gaming and betting in Italy and worldwide, organised by government agencies and the Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato.
He is the author of the chapters on Italy in the last two editions of the Internet Gambling Report.

He has published articles for the Academy of European Law, edited the handouts for the Computer Law course at the University of Tuscia on ‘The Telematic Game’, as well as numerous handouts for training courses at the School of Economics and Finance. He is the author of the monograph Games Granted and Games on line strong published in March 2010 by Poligrafico dello Stato. A member of the International Masters of Gaming Law and of the Presidential Committee of the GiocareItalia Confederation, he is the Secretary General of U.T.I.S. (Unione Totoricevitori Italiani Sportivi), is registered as a journalist and cooperates with the main specialised gaming publications in Italy (TS, Jamma, Agicos). He publishes with Atlante (Economics and Sustainable Development) and Technet (specialising in IT).

He is the author of: ‘Guide to Laws and Regulations of Gaming and Betting’, ‘Games Granted and Online Games’, ‘Web, Freedom and Law’.
